30 Day Challenge: Day Two

Day Two's Challenge: Five Things I Believe in
*originally, day two was to be about something I feel strongly about, but because I realized I couldn't narrow it down to just one, I decided to change it*

1) Family. My parents came from big families. So I've got aunts, uncles, and cousins galore. I always believe that family comes first. If you can't count on your family, who can you really count on? Although, sometimes, it's the family that will cause you the most heartache, the love of a family is forever.
2) Do onto others as you want them to do onto you.  Since as long as I can remember, I've always believed that what goes around, comes around. So I try my best to make sure that I follow the Golden Rule.
3) Forgive. This year, I learned how to truly forgive. I never understood how it worked when I would hear that forgiveness lightens the burden/pain. I used to hold onto grudges and be mad about things that happened to me years ago, only to later realize that while I'm sitting here mad and thinking about the person who did me wrong, they're going on with their lives, caring none at all about me. So when I was faced with a problem this year, I immediately decided to forgive. It's true, though, that you never forget. If only I could figure a way to conquer that one...
4) Honesty is the best policy. and sometimes silence (lol). My mother would say if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all. Although honesty is what everyone 'wants', not all honesty is the best honesty. I think if it directly affects some aspect of your life, then by all means, be honest. Although honesty is supposed to be the best policy, sometimes silence is better.

5) If it sounds to go to be true, it probably is.  "If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, it's a duck" seems to cancel this one out sometimes. (lol) You know that married couple that always looks and acts like they never have a problem in the world? Or that deal you heard about but failed to read the very small print? Sometimes not all good things are truly good things. There's a flaw in all things.....

Your turn: What is one thing you truly believe in?

Like you, I one thing I really believe in is family. I have a huge family, and I am very close to them. They mean everything to me! I also married a man who has a huge loving family, so I am double winning!
